CUTTING BOARDS

As a result of Calu's partnership with Pedro Maroni's Manjar Móveis, the cutting boards are multifunctional, sustainable and unique pieces. The main idea was to develop a product thinking about the reuse of materials that would be discarded, combining art, design and utility. The woods are collected in dumpsters. Jambs and timber that could go to waste are reused in production. Among the most used species are Peroba Rosa, Ipê, Cumaru and Garapeira. The Ceramics are mined in tile cemeteries, demolitions and reforms. Just like the wood, these ceramics arrive with a previous history and gain a new one, with the drawings and brushstrokes of Calu Fontes.
